Come meet and socialize with your union sisters while celebrating your sisterhood on Saturday, Aug. 5 at the IBEW Local 1 Union Hall. Union sisters in all trades are invited to attend.
The event will be from 2 to 6 p.m. at the union hall, located at 5850 Elizabeth Ave. in St. Louis. Guests are encouraged to bring their favorite snacks. IBEW Local 1 is providing refreshments.
IBEW Local 1 electrician Stacey Bonuso is coordinating the event. For most of her career, Bonuso said she has felt very alone because she was often the only woman at the jobsite. Then she worked on the recent BJC Campus Renewal Project, where she was able to meet and work with about 50 other tradeswomen.
“Seeing the other tradeswomen at that job made me realize that I can’t be the only one feeling alone out there and that we as sisters need real face time in a social atmosphere,” Bonuso said. “This event is long overdue. We need more togetherness, and as union sisters, we are already family members. I’m really looking forward to it.”
The event is strictly a social gathering, and there will be no guest speakers. Please share this with all of your union sisters. Reservations are not required.
