Company is a signatory contractor with five local unions

IBEW Local 1 is bannering Western Specialty Contractors, formerly known as Western Waterproofing, for using Reinhold Electric as a subcontractor for electrical work at the Center for Advanced Medicine at 4921 Parkview Place in St. Louis.

Reinhold is a non-AFL-CIO-affiliated Local 57 contractor that pays far below area standard wages and benefits established by Local 1.

Complicating matters is the fact that Western Specialty Contractors is a signatory contractor with the Bricklayers, Cement Masons, Ironworkers, Laborers and Roofers.

Local 1 Business Representative Dave Roth and Local 1 electrician Dan Liescheidt recently took that message to the public while Reinhold was working at the jobsite.

Prior to setting up the banner, Roth tried negotiating with Jason Holtman, the company’s branch manager, even offering to meet or beat the price Reinhold had quoted for the work. Holtman flat out refused.

Local 1 is asking fellow union members to voice their opinions by calling Holtman at 314-773-8813 and demanding that the company use first-rate electrical contractors that pay area standard wages and benefits.

For more information, call Roth at 314-647-5900.
