Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 562 relocating offices and training center to Earth City

Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 562 is moving its headquarters and training center to Earth City to better serve its 4,000 members with a more centralized location.

Local 562’s current headquarters, which sits on 450 acres of land, is located at 12385 Larimore Road in Spanish Lake, MO and its training center is located at Highway 270 and Lilac at 1084 Kenran Industrial Blvd., near Bellefontaine Neighbors. Both properties are for sale.

“Our offices and the training center need to be in a place to better serve our members,” said John O’Mara, business manager, secretary-treasurer of Local 562. “Our training center will be better equipped to keep up with new technologies, training devices and will allow us more space for our quality hands-on training programs.”

NEW LOCATIONS

The union is purchasing the former ITT Technical Institute building located at 3640 Corporate Trail, off Highway 70/Earth City Expressway to house the union’s offices, health and welfare personnel and health center. The more-than 40,000-square-foot building is being renovated and the move should take place by end of 2017.

The training center will be located 3772 Corporate Center Dr. and is scheduled to be completed by end of 2018.

Local 562 closed on both properties on June 20 and 21.

“We are very excited to move to a facility that will give our members a much better opportunity to enhance their skills in the piping industry,” O’Mara said.

GROWING MEMBERSHIP, QUALITY SERVICE

O’Mara said Local 562 has grown to include 4,000 members who serve the plumbing and mechanical industry in 67 counties in Eastern Missouri, offering a wide array of plumbing and mechanical skills that are valued throughout the construction industry.
