Unions picket non-union job on Plains Pipeline

Wood River, IL – Metro East union members picketed all last week at a job site on the Plains Pipeline along Moreland Road, just north of Illinois 143. The pipeline company,  from Houston, TX, hired a non-union contractor from Oklahoma for maintenance work that has previously been done by local union contractors. The picketing was led by Operating Engineers Local 520 and was joined by members of Laborers locals 40 and 338 and members of the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters.
