Bread-and-Roses“Then & Now, Again ‘A Workers’ Opera’ ” to be staged in September

Bread & Roses Missouri is looking for talented union members with stories to tell to participate in “THEN & NOW, AGAIN ‘A Workers’ Opera’ ” to be staged in September.

Bread & Roses is hosting a casting call Saturday, June 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at SEIU Hall 2725 Clifton Ave., St. Louis, MO 63139

You don’t need to sing, you just need to have a story you want to tell about your work, your union or your life. Lunch will be provided.

Joan Suarez, coordinator for Bread & Roses Missouri, said this is an opportunity for union members, low-wage workers and others to come together to help develop a program looking at labor history and modern day work and labor issues.

“It’s an opportunity to talk about their work, their union and their life,” Suarez said. “Who doesn’t’ like to talk about themselves?”

Cast members will be selected at the casting call. The opera will be performed Sept. 23, 24 and 25 at a yet to be determined location.
