The 12th Annual Labor/United Way Trap Shoot & BBQ  scheduled for April 24 has been postponed due to concerns about the novel coronavirus COVID-19.

“United Way of Greater St. Louis takes the health and safety of our staff, volunteers and donors seriously,” Gholston-Byrd, vice president of Labor Engagement/Labor liaison said in a statement. “With this in mind, we are postponing our upcoming Labor Trap Shoot initially scheduled for Friday, April 24.

“We want to thank you for your understanding and support,” Gholston-Byrd said. “We are evaluating future dates to host this event and are excited to share an update with you soon.”

The annual trap shoot – sponsored by the St. Louis Labor Council, St. Louis Building and Construction Trades Council, Greater Madison County Federation of Labor, Southwestern Illinois Building and Construction Trades Council and Southwestern Illinois Central Labor Council – is the major fundraising event for the annual Labor/United Way Campaign. Last year’s event raised some $30,000 for United Way programs in the bi-state area.
