Over the Christmas holiday, a number of organizations had annual Christmas gatherings and at each one donations were collected for the $5 for the Fight Fund to help out-of-work union families meet daily necessities. A total of $17,154 was donated by labor leadership and friends of labor at the gatherings.
NEED HELP FROM THE FUND? Any union member needing help from the Fight Fund should contact their local union who will verify membership and than pass on the request to the St. Louis Labor Council. Fund distribution is handled through the United Way. In addition to the Fight Fund, the United Way also has other agency resources they can direct people to for specific kinds of help. Don’t be too proud. If you are out-of-work and need help, contact your local for $5 for the Fight financial aid. – Labor Tribune photos
