Save the date! Missouri Women in Trades (MOWIT) will host its Fourth Annual Blue Collar-Black Tie Tradeswomen Awards Gala on Friday, Nov. 4.

The event, which is black tie optional, is held to recognize and honor outstanding St. Louis-area tradeswomen as well as unions and contractors who have gone the extra mile to support women in the building trades.

This year’s gala will be held from 5:30 to 11 p.m. at Sheet Metal Workers’ Local 36 Grand Hall, 2319 Chouteau Ave. in St. Louis. The evening includes dinner, a cash bar, the awards ceremony, and new this year, a silent auction basket competition.

MOWIT is seeking donations of baskets filled with tools, equipment, work gear and other trade items from tradeswomen, unions and contractors. Contents should be worth at least $100. A prize will be given to the donator who raises the most money from the auction.

Tickets to the event are $50 for apprentices, $75 per person or $600 for a table of eight. Sponsorships and advertising in the program book are also available.

MOWIT is dedicated to expanding opportunities for women to enter and succeed in apprenticeships and careers in union construction.
