Changing of the guard: Pat White takes office as Labor Council president

St. Louis – The Greater St. Louis Labor Council’s new President Pat White, (left) accepted the gavel from retiring President Bob Soutier at the Jan. 20 Labor Council delegates’ meeting. White, a business representative for Gas Workers 11-6 is a 26-year union member and was the unanimous selection of the executive board to replace Soutier following the announcement of his retirement.

The Council will honor Soutier with a tribute dinner on Friday, March 27, at Sheet Metal Workers Local 36 Union Hall and Training Center at 2319 Chouteau Ave. in St. Louis

Soutier is retiring after nine years as council president and 43 years as a Machinist, 35 of them as an organizer and business representative for Machinists District 9. Soutier will serve as a special consultant to White until his official retirement on April 1.
