Bricklayers and Allied Craft Workers Locals 1 and 18 are holding a poker run on Saturday, July 28 to help get the word out to defeat Prop A (“right-to-work”) at the ballot box on Aug. 7.

Protect your pay. Vote NO on Prop A on Aug. 7 to defeat RTW.

All union members, their families and friends are invited to the event, which will begin and end at the House Springs Lion’s Club at 6482 Highway MM, in House Springs, MO. Registration is from 10 to 11 a.m., and all stops will be in Jefferson County.

SPREAD THE WORD: VOTE ‘NO’ ON PROP A

“We are trying to increase awareness of Prop A and help spread the word to all union members and their families about the importance of voting ‘NO’ at the ballot box on Aug. 7,” said John Hopkin, BAC ADC of Eastern Missouri secretary-treasurer.

The event will end at 5 p.m. at the Lions Club and will include guest speakers Missouri Senator Gina Walsh (D-Bellefontaine Neighbors), president of the Missouri State Building and Construction Trades Council and a retired member of Heat and Frost Insulators Local 1, and Senator Jake Hummel (D-St. Louis), an IBEW Local 1 electrician and Missouri AFL-CIO secretary-treasurer.

CASH PRIZES

The entry fee is $20 per person. There will be cash prizes for the top three poker hands. The day will include barbeque, beer and soda, music and a 50/50 raffle. All bikes and vehicles are welcome. T-shirts commemorating the event will be available for $5 on a first-come, first-served basis.
