THE MARTIN LUTHER KING Human Rights Award Banquet, hosted by the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists (CBTU) St. Louis Chapter, will be held Monday, Jan. 15, at SMART Sheet Metal Workers Local 36 Union Hall, 2329 Chouteau Ave. in St Louis.

The Coalition of Black Trade Unionists (CBTU) St Louis Chapter will celebrate its 40th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Human Rights Award Banquet Monday, Jan. 15, at SMART Sheet Metal Workers Local 36 Union Hall, 2329 Chouteau Ave. in St Louis.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. The awards program will begin at 6 p.m. with individuals being honored for their contributions for social justice, human and labor rights in the tradition of Dr. King in the St. Louis metro area.

HONOREES

This year’s honorees include:

  • Tory Russell, mission director of the International Black Freedom Alliance and St Louis protest leader for racial and economic justice;
  • Ashli Bolden, civic engagement director for Missouri Jobs with Justice;
  • Halbert Sullivan, founder and director of Fathers’ Support Center.

Cecil Roberts, international president of the United Mine Workers of America, will provide the keynote address.
