Celebrate Women in Construction Week with these events

The St. Louis Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) and other organizations are sponsoring several events to celebrate Women in Construction (WIC) Week, March 6-12. 

WIC Week raises awareness and celebrates the work of women in the construction industry across the country. NAWIC founded WIC Week in 1998 to continue its mission of strengthening and amplifying the success of women in the industry. This year’s theme is “Envision Equity.”

There are several events planned:

  • Terra at the Grove Jobsite Tour and Happy Hour on Tuesday, March 8, at 3 p.m. at 4500 Swan Ave. in St. Louis. Happy hour will follow at Urban Chestnut Brewing Company at 4465 Manchester Ave. in The Grove. Sponsored by the Green Street Building Group.
  • Women’s Construction Career Expo on Wednesday, March 9 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the St. Louis County American Legion Post 404 and Post 111 at 7300 Lansdowne Ave. in St. Louis. Sponsored by the Missouri Jobs Center of St. Charles County, American Legion Post 404 & 111, Association of General Contractors of Missouri, Missouri Women in Trades, NAWIC St. Louis and the Construction Forum.
  • Ice Cream Social on Thursday, March 10 at 4 p.m. at the City Foundry STL at 3730 Foundry Way in St. Louis. Sponsored by SM Wilson.
