“It was a good time for a good cause,” ST-ELL President Gordon Smith, a member of CWA Local 6300, said. “We got a lot more than what we got last year and everybody had a great time.”

About 120 people turned out for the event, which was sponsored by the Missouri AFL-CIO, the Greater St. Louis Labor Council, CWA Local 6300 and Sheet Metal Workers Local 36.

Smith said the proceeds were used to purchase school supplies including backpacks, pencils, folders, crayons, notebooks, glue sticks, erasers, scissors, protractors, colored pencils, markers and snacks.

ST-ELL is a group of young and newer union members working together to educate, empower and mobilize the next generation of labor leaders.
