Floyd Bell, president of CWA Local 6300, has been appointed to the University of Missouri (UM) Extension Council for St. Louis County. His term began March 1.

Bell will represent to voice of Organized Labor on the 19-person Council, replacing Ken Truemper, former president of Graphic Communications Local 6-505, whose term expired last month.

All 114 Missouri counties have an MU county extension council, made up of elected and appointed citizens, who guide the Extension’s local educational programming, from needs assessment through program implementation and evaluation of outcomes.

“Brother Bell will be an outstanding representative for Organized Labor on the county’s Extension Council,” said Pat White, president, St. Louis Labor Council.

County Extension Council members work with regional specialists to provide the county educational program, manage finances of local Extension operations, provide personnel to carry out Extension activities, and elect and organize the local Extension Council.
