St. Louis – Southwire Co., based in Apworth, GA, recently donated $12,000 worth of specialized equipment to the St. Louis Electric Industry Training Center, located at 2300 Hampton Ave. in St. Louis. The material includes (from left) a conduit bender, wire puller, special rope, triggers, reel jax, wire guide and wire grips. Accepting the gift are (from left) Training Director Dennis Gralike, Assistant Training Director Tim Kelley, IBEW Local 1 Business Manager Frank Jacobs, St. Louis Chapter National Electrical Contractors Association Executive Vice President Doug Martin, and three representatives from Southwire, Allen Hooper, Karl Beckmann and Mike Kemp. Gralike said the equipment is a valuable addition to the Training Center that will help better prepare its apprentices.
