Almost 90 cars and bikes were on display July 18 for Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 562’s first car and bike show at its new headquarters in Earth City, Mo.

Larry Warren, who chairs Local 562’s new Motorcycle Enthusiasts Club, came up with the idea for the show to generate interest in the new club. The unofficial group has about 20 members who get together for a motorcycle ride on Sundays once a month.

“We actually had more cars than bikes at the show,” Warren said. “But overall, it was a huge success. One couple told me the event was a great idea because it provided them the opportunity to socialize with their Local 562 brothers and sisters because neither of them golf or fish.” The union hosts annual fishing and golf tournaments.

There were no admissions fees to the event or class awards, but that may change next year, Warren said.

Those interested in learning for about the new Motorcycle Enthusiasts Club can contact Warren at 314-630-1641. The next motorcycle ride is planned for Sunday, Aug. 22.
