Waterloo, IL – Working people and their families will be honored on Sunday, Sept. 23 at the 2018 Celebration of Working Families Picnic, sponsored by the Monroe County Democratic Central Committee.
The event will be from noon to 4 p.m. at VFW Post 6504, at 406 Veterans Drive. The picnic will include free hamburgers, hot dogs and drinks and offer school supplies, face painting, live music, bounce houses for the kids to play in and more.
The Committee is asking for donations to help pay for the school supplies.
“Building off the great success of our last event, we anticipate reaching over 200 families,” organizers said in a letter to supporters. “With your donation, our event will be a great success, and the children will have the much-needed school supplies to help achieve a great school year.”
