The Gateway Labor and Employer Relations Association (LERA) board has decided to waive all co-sponsor, patron and individual membership fees for the 2021 program year.
The association, which brings together organizations and individuals in the field of industrial and labor/management relations in Greater St. Louis, provides members with networking and educational opportunities.
“Covid-19 has changed the way society is operating and has affected all our lives,” Gateway LERA Executive Director Rudy Smith wrote in a letter to members. “The board wishes all our members well and to be safe.”
Smith said that over the next few months, the board will be working on major changes to the organization, including the possibility of establishing a partnership with an educational institution.
“During the process, we will be contacting our members for input,” said Smith, a Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 562 retired organizer/business agent. “Our goal is to provide a value to our members.”
