The Great Southwestern Illinois Association of Plumbing-Heating-Cooling and Mechanical Contractors (GSW) will host a golf tournament Friday, Sept. 30 to benefit the Association’s annual scholarship program.

The GSW is an organization of union-affiliated contractors dedicated to the promotion, advancement, education and training of the industry for the protection of our environment and the health, safety and comfort of our community.

The Association awarded four $2,000 scholarships for the 2022 academic year to students planning to attend or currently attend a trade school, vocational college or two or four-year institution, and pursing degrees in the field relevant to the industry, particularly the mechanical trades or construction.

The scholarship winners were:

• Haley Edmonds – Maryland Heights, Mo.
• Joseph Lugge – Freeburg, Ill.
• Delaney O’Neill – Wildwood, Mo.
• Emma Ruffini – Highland, Ill.

This year’s golf tournament to benefit the scholarship program will be held at The Orchards Golf Club, in Belleville, beginning at 8 a.m. The entry fee of $125 per golfer, $540 for a four-person team; fee includes 18 holes of golf in three-person flights, breakfast, lunch and drinks. Hole sponsorships are $130.
