All union sisters are invited to the Aug. 3 pool party
Join your union sisters Saturday, Aug. 3, for a little relaxation and fun in the sun at a pool party and barbecue. All union sisters are invited to attend.
The celebration will begin at noon at a tradeswoman’s home in St. Peters, MO. Pork steaks will be provided, and guests are encouraged to bring a side dish and beverages of their choice.
IBEW Local 1 electrician Stacey Bonuso came up with the idea for the annual get- together three years ago. During her career, she was often the only woman on the jobsite and felt alone.
But after working on the BJC Campus Renewal Project, she was able to meet and work with about 50 other tradeswomen which made her realize that “we as sisters need real face time in a social atmosphere.”
The past two sisterhood celebrations have been held at the IBEW Local 1 union hall. However, since the hall is under construction this year, Bonuso decided to switch things up with the pool party and barbecue.
