IBEW Local 1 Christmas light display brightens holidays

SPREADING CHEER with thousands of red and green lights, IBEW Local 1’s decorative display at its union hall at 5850 Elizabeth Ave. in St. Louis is brightening the holidays in the St. Louis area. St. Louis is the birthplace of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, which was formed 130 years ago on Nov. 28, 1891, and IBEW Local 1 is the international’s first local union. Today, IBEW Local 1 represents more than 7,400 active members (and retirees) working in a variety of fields including construction, telecommunications, manufacturing and government. – Labor Tribune photo
