IBEW Local 1 picket of Total Wine & More prompts fellow union members to walk off the job

CHESTERFIELD, MO – IBEW Local 1 electricians Chris Thompson (left) and Eric Duffey held a picket Oct. 8 at Total Wine & More at 1781 Clarkson Road to alert the public that electrical work at the site is being performed by Reinhold Electric – a non-AFL-CIO affiliated Local 57 contractor that pays below area standard wages and benefits established by IBEW Local 1. Local 1 Business Representative Ken Landwehr said that shortly after the picket was set up, members from Bricklayers Local 1 and Sheet Metal Workers Local 36 who were working at the site walked off the job in a show of solidarity and support for IBEW Local 1. – IBEW Local 1 photo
