Overland, MO – IBEW Local 1 and Rexel Supply have reached an agreement on a five-year contract that includes raises for Local 1 represented Rexel employees and continues the cooperative relationship Local 1 and Rexel have enjoyed for many years.
That relationship appeared threatened earlier this year, when Local 1, with the backing of IBEW Local 309 in Illinois, began boycotting Rexel over stalled contract negotiations.
The negotiations dragged on for eight months, eventually requiring a federal mediator to be assigned.
“Thanks to our members and the members of Local 309, we were able to negotiate raises and a five-year agreement,” Local 1 Business Representative Dave Roth said. “Although it took eight hard months to make it happen, the end result was a very fair contract for our members.”
Local 1 Business Representative Chuck DeMoulin said with building in the St. Louis area improving, Local 1 and Rexel are ready to re-energize the electrical supplies and services market.
“We’re looking forward to continuing our relationship with Rexel,” he said.
With locations in Missouri and Illinois, Rexel provides electrical supplies and services in the industrial, commercial and residential markets.
