Springfield, IL – The Illinois AFL-CIO will hold its 2020 convention online via Zoom on Tuesday, July 28, in accordance with Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s Restore Illinois plan, which prohibits gatherings of more than 50 people until testing, contact tracing and a treatment for the COVID-19 virus are readily available.

This will be the 44th convention for the state Federation. Unions and affiliated Labor groups should continue to elect or select delegates as they would for an in-person convention.

“While we would prefer to host a regular, physical convention, rest assured that we will conduct the regular business of the convention as we have in the past,” said Tim Drea, president of the Illinois AFL-CIO.

Credentials and resolutions may be submitted to convention2020@ilafl-cio.org. For questions, call 217-544-4014.
