Gerald “Jerry” F. Hagan, a 37-year member of IBEW Local 1439 and former member of the union’s executive board, passed away Wednesday, Oct, 2 at the age of 61. He was a journeyman wireman for Ameren Missouri until he retired on Oct. 1, 2017.
Brother Hagan was the loving husband and high school sweetheart of Dianne Hagan of 38 years; beloved son of Walter and the late Diana Hagan, and Hattie and the late Francis James; devoted father of Kyle (Melissa) Hagan, and Molly (Dave) Muiznieks; loving Papa to three jewels, Savannah, Brenton, and Tanner; dear brother of Chris (Laura) Hagan, Sean (Pam) Hagan, Michael (Debra) James, Matt (Nydia) James, Jenn (Dave) Diaz, and Jessica James; and uncle, cousin and friend to many.
A supportive husband, father and grandfather, Brother Hagan was very involved in his children’s lives and would support them through their sports and activities as a Cub Scout leader, coach and No. 1 fan. An avid Cardinals and Blues fan, he also enjoyed golf, bowling, swimming and playing bocce ball with friends, hunting and fishing in Canada.
Brother Hagan attended Immanuel Lutheran Church for many years, where he was an usher and part of the Men’s Club. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
A visitation will be held Thursday, Oct. 10 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Baue St. Charles, 620 Jefferson St., in St. Charles, and a funeral service will be held on Friday, Oct. 11 at 2 p.m. at the same location.
Memorials may be made in Brother Hagan’s name to Autism Speaks or Immanuel Lutheran Church in St. Charles.
