IN MEMORIAM: Iron Workers Local 392’s Donald Field

Donald G. Field, of Iron Workers Local 392, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2020 at age 81.

Brother Field, of Belleville, was a Local 392 member from 1955 to 1998 and worked all over Southern Illinois. He also served his country in the U.S. Air Force Reserves from 1957-1965 as a flight/crew chief on C-110’s working mainly through Scott Air Force Base. He was an avid bass fisherman and hunter and committed man of God. He led a Royal Ranger program for boys and taught Sunday School.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jeanette (Brooks) Field, of Belleville; sister, Virginia (Field) Gruenke, of Fairview Heights, Ill.; children Debrah Henry-Zeisset (husband Michael) of Belleville; Cheryl McAfee (Michael), of Canton, Ohio; Donald Field (Jennifer), Shiloh, Ill.; grandchildren: Stephanie (Andrew) McAfee-Lawson, of Canton; Anthony (Cayla) McAfee, of New Franklin, Ohio; Piper Field, of Shiloh; and great-grandchild Liam McAfee, of New Franklin.

Brother Field was preceded in death by his parents, Roy W. Sr. and Hazel (Judd) Field; siblings Keith Stanford, Roy W. Jr., Dorothy Seals, and John Stanford; and son-in-law, Jim Henry.

Memorials may be made to charity of your choice. A memorial service was held Sept. 19 at Victory Family Church at 555 S. Belt West in Belleville, with a private burial.
