IN MEMORIAM: Nick Torpea, former president, UFCW Local 655

Nick J. Torpea, past president of UFCW Local 655, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2022.

Brother Torpea is survived by his beloved wife of 17 years, Suzanne Torpea; children Nick A. (Patty) Torpea, Jaci (Allen) Hendrickson and Amanda (Mark) Spinner; dear grandpa of Luke, Abigail, Owen and Auggie; and sister Anna (the late Virgil) Wrozier; and was preceded in death by Dolly Clark. He was a dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend of many.

A veteran member of UFCW Local 655, Brother Torpea was a union advocate and loved golfing, traveling and going to the casino.

Visitation and services were held on Aug. 19. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
