Donald Dean (Don) Rotty died on Jan. 3, 2022 unexpectedly in his home.
Brother Rotty was a loving husband, a wonderful father, and a dedicated PaPa survived by his beloved wife of over 43 years, Pamala Lundak Rotty, his treasured children Sarah Rotty Thomas (Nathan), Bryan Rotty (Sondra), his four adored grandchildren Audrey Anna Thomas, Logan Joseph Rotty, Gwendolyn Alyse Thomas, and Gavin William Rotty, his cherished mother Patricia Rotty, and his loved sisters Debbie Rotty Davis (John) and Dana Rotty, along with his bird, Mack, and many other friends and family. He was preceded in death by his father Joseph William Rotty.
Brother Rotty was a master sprinkler fitter and proud member of Sprinkler Fitters Local 268 for over 43 years, where he has earned the respect of his colleagues and customers. After following his father-in-law, Gordon Lundak’s, footsteps into the trade, he partnered with his wife and other family members to establish a successful fire protection company, working passionately to solve challenging problems and implement quality solutions while supporting his family. Often referred to as “the Legend” amongst his colleagues, Don enjoyed teaching others about his skilled trade, and the hope is that his legacy will be carried forward for generations.
Brother Rotty spent much of his free time working alongside his wife as a volunteer at Equus Rescue and Therapy, crafting solutions to help support the rescued horses and loving them as if they were his own. He was a lifelong lover of all animals and had an extraordinary way of calming them.
A visitation for Brother Rotty was held on Jan. 7 at Peace Lutheran Church in St. Louis.
