Iron Workers 392 picketing O’Reilly Auto Parts, Dollar General over use of non-union contractor

EDWARDSVILLE – Rick Stamer (left) and James Hill, of Iron Workers Local 392, joined in an informational picket recently at
the building site for a new O’Reilly Auto Parts off Illinois 159. O’Reilly is using non-union contractor Ace Builders from Indiana,
which pays below area standard wages and benefits, for steel framing and sheeting. The work would have been enough for
four or five ironworkers. Local 392 was also picketing at Dollar General construction sites in Carlyle, Centralia and St. Jacob
over the same issue. Hill said the picketers were getting a good reception at the O’Reilly site. “It’s been very positive, and a lot
