Festus, MO – The Jefferson County Labor Club will host a Christmas Party on Monday, Dec. 12 and is requesting donations of canned goods or grocery gift cards for the Arnold Food Pantry.

The party will take place at the club’s regular meeting location at 4 Main St. in Festus from 5 to 7:30 p.m. and will include appetizers and refreshments. Guests are asked to bring canned goods or non-perishable items or gift cards to union-represented grocery stores, which will benefit families served by the Arnold Food Pantry.

“One of our goals as an organization is to give back to our community,” said Sheri Gassaway, the club’s recording secretary. “We usually hold a comedy night each year to raise money for charitable organizations in the community, but that event has been on hold the last couple years. We thought this would be the perfect opportunity to celebrate the season and help area families.”

The Arnold Food Pantry, which serves over 300 families each week, is the largest non-denominational food distribution center in the St. Louis region that does not receive city, state or federal government funding.
