ScroogeJoin St. Louis Jobs with Justice for their annual “Holiday Party with an Attitude,” a holiday happy hour fundraiser where workers vote for the person or organization that wreaked the most havoc on Missouri working families this year.

Last year’s winner for St. Louis was Donald Thompson, the CEO of McDonald’s.

Who’s it going to be this year? You can help decide!

THE MISERLY DETAILS

Each year, Kansas City and St. Louis Jobs with Justice member organizations nominate candidates for ”Scrooge of the Year.”

Organizations run spirited campaigns to educate the public about the forces harming working families. The greediest, cold-hearted CEO, politician, corporation or 1%er who truly exemplifies the Spirit of Ebenezer Scrooge wins!

This year’s holiday happy hour fundraiser is Tuesday, Dec. 9, from 5-7 p.m. at Maggie O’Brien’s, 2000 Market Street in downtown St. Louis.

SUPPORT JWJ

In addition to being a fun party, “Scrooge of the Year” builds Jobs with Justice member organizations’ relationships. Through the event, groups have the opportunity to learn about others’ struggles, issues and campaigns in a festive way.

Admission is $20 and includes 20 votes for the candidate of your choice, appetizers and non-alcoholic beverages. A cash bar is also available.

The holiday happy hour is a fundraiser – one dollar, one vote – vote EARLY and OFTEN.

St. Louis Jobs with Justice is still accepting nominations from member organizations.
