John Patrick (Jack) Crowley, founding president of the St. Louis City Labor Club

premiumobit_candleJohn Patrick (Jack) Crowley, a member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 562 and founding president of the St. Louis City Labor & Legislative Club, died December 15, 2015, surrounded by his family. He was 77.

Brother Crowley, of St. Louis, was a journeyman plumber, member and officer of Plumbers Local 35 and member of Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 562.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra L. Crowley (nee Stephens) and children: Susan (Brian) Strubhart, Patrick, and Matthew (Shelley). His son John preceded him in death.

Brother Crowley was also a loving grandfather to Sidney, Olivia and Jack Strubhart, Mackenzie, Jack and Maddi Crowley, and Josephine Crowley, and brother of Virginia Cook, Blanche Vandiver (deceased), Kathleen Banta (deceased), Joseph Crowley, Loretta Cowie and Robert Crowley.

Brother Crowley was a friend to many and will truly be missed. In his final selfless act, John donated his body to St. Louis University for medical research.

Like Brother Crowley, Alzheimer’s does not discriminate. His final gift will bring hope to future generations striving to find a cure.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 am. Saturday, Jan. 2, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 5020 Rhodes Ave. at Kingshighway, in St. Louis.
