UNITE HERE needs contact information

BARTHOLOMEW

UNITE HERE Local 74, the union local representing hotel and restaurant workers, needs your help.

Local 74 President Kim Bartholomew says Local 74 is expanding its organizing efforts to bring fairness, decent wages and improved working conditions to more restaurant, bar and hotel workers, and is asking all union members to help by providing names and contact information for anyone they know who is working in the industry.

If you know of someone – a friend or family member – in the hospitality industry, tell them they can speak with UNITE HERE confidentially about the benefits of joining the union. Get the conversation started by contacting Sister Bartholomew at 314-890-0250 or email kbartholomew@unitehere.org.

Mattingly’s Bar & Grill goes NON-UNION

To the surprise of many at the Labor Council’s Executive Board meeting on April 18, UNITE-HERE announced that a popular hang-out of union members, Mattingly’s Sports Bar & Grill’s two locations at 8108 N. Lindbergh and in St. Charles at 3434 Harry S. Truman Blvd., have refused to sign new Labor contracts and are no longer union houses. A third location in Lake St. Louis had never been union. Long an established union house popular with union members, Mattingly’s new ownership has refused to renew their union contracts.
