Labor allies show up to support for Ryder warehouse workers seeking Teamster 688 representation

Hazelwood, MO Standing in solidarity, union members and Labor allies showed up during shift changes last week at the Ryder warehouse here at 1575 Tradeport Drive to support workers who are taking part in a union authorization vote to join Teamsters Local 688. Here, John L. Sita, of Teamsters Local 688 (left,) and Richard Buthod, a friend of Labor, stand in support of the 110 workers on Sept. 8. Originally, the vote was supposed to take place Sept. 14 and 15 at the warehouse, but the NLRB decided to hold the election by via mail because COVID 19 rates in the area are over five percent, said Local 688 Organizer Mike Marquardt. The votes will be tallied on Oct. 13 at 2 p.m. – Mike Marquardt/Teamsters Local 688 photo
