ST. LOUIS AND MISSOURI COALITION OF LABOR UNION WOMEN (CLUW) representatives laced up their boots and hit the streets of downtown St. Louis with their union sisters and brothers Jan. 19 at the third annual St. Louis Women’s March. The event, which coincided with the national Women’s March on Washington and hundreds of sister marches in cities across the nation, was held to further the advancement of gender equality and women’s issues. Fewer people participated in this year’s march, possibility because of bone-chilling temperatures and the threat of snow. Joining together in a show of union solidarity (front row, from left) were St. Louis CLUW member Aurora Bihler of Iron Workers Local 396, St. Louis CLUW member Sharon Pettiford, Michelle Whitley of UAW Local 2250, Missouri CLUW President Robbie Robinson of APWU St. Louis Gateway Local 8, St. Louis CLUW President Kim Cook Bell of UAW 2250 and Niles Zee, St. Louis Workers Education Society executive board member/communications director. In the back (from left) are UAW 2250 members Sherry LeBeau and Josh Cheney. – Glenn Kage/UAW 2250 photo
