Laborers 42 donates to member’s urban scholarship program

FOR THE FOURTH YEAR IN A ROW, Laborers Local 42 has donated $500 to one of its members for a local urban scholarship program he created. George Love, a Local 42 St. Louis Public Schools custodian, began a not-for-profit organization called Prepared: The Gateway to the Northwest. Its High Five Scholarship Program, which began in 2017, awards $500 scholarships to disadvantaged high school students in the St. Louis Public School District. Love (left) received the donation for the scholarship program on Jan. 22 from Local 42 President/Assistant Business Manager Richard McLaughlin at the Local 42 union hall.
