St. Louis – Laborers Local 42 has recognized six rank-and-file members as the union’s “2017 Laborers of the Year.” Local 42 Business Manager/Secretary-Treasurer Brandon Flinn said: “I could describe them all with certain adjectives – reliable; trusted, both by the members and the officers; skilled, committed and loyal.” Recognized for their outstanding dedication to the job and their union were (seated, from left) Linda Van Meter, Damiano Blakemore, Rusty Rider, Tim Sullivan and Travis Machelett. Honoring them at last week’s union meeting were (back row, from left) Vice President Jeffrey Mack, Flinn, President Richard McLaughlin and Recording Secretary Matthew Andrews. Also honored, but not pictured, from Local 42’s Law Enforcement Division was Cottleville Police Officer Troy Inserra, who helped in organizing the department and bringing other officers on board with the union. – Laborer Tribune photo
