Laborers’ Local 110 has received the National Award of Merit from the Boys & Girls Club of greater St. Louis for the Local’s ongoing support of the Club and its programming.

Local 110 has been generous and dedicated supporter of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater St. Louis since 2004, supporting annual events including All That Jazz and the Jim Butler Charity Golf Classic.

For 2015, All That Jazz is being rebranding into “Great Futures Gala” and Laborers Local 110 was one of the first groups to sponsor the event.

The National Award of Merit is presented to individuals and organizations that have provided outstanding support to a local Club or to the Boys & Girls Club Movement.

“Our Board of Directors and staff are proud to recognize Local 110 for the tremendous investment you are making in our youth,” said Club President Flint W. Fowler, Ph.D. “Your support helps to fund great futures for thousands of St. Louis area kids, particularly those who need us most.”

The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs is to inspire and enable youth ages 6 to 18 to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.

Since 1967, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater St. Louis (formerly Herbert Hoover) has been providing a safe place for children to learn and grow.

The Club now serves over 5,700 kids, including 4,500 registered Club members at six locations (Adams Park Club, Ferguson Middle School Club, Herbert Hoover Club, O’Fallon Park Club, Hazelwood Southeast Middle School Club and Twillman Elementary School Club) and within several other schools (including Normandy High School and Roosevelt High School) in the St. Louis region.
