LERA Gateway Chapter to host networking reception, program on off-duty employee conduct Oct. 4

The Labor & Employment Relations Association (LERA) Gateway Chapter is hosting a networking reception and a program on off-duty employee conduct on Wednesday, Oct. 4.

The event will be held at Bartolino’s Osteria at 2103 Sulphur Ave. in St. Louis. The networking session, which includes drinks and appetizers, begins at 4 p.m., and the program runs from 5:15 to 6 p.m.

As social media continues to expand, personal lives become increasingly public, which can create a dilemma when employers become aware of their employees’ off-duty conduct.

The program will address the actions employers can they take if they disapprove of the conduct or feel that it hurts the reputation of the company. It will also outline employee protections regarding discipline and privacy.

REGISTRATION

The program is free for LERA patrons and co-sponsor members and $50 for all others. RSVP for the event by Sept. 29 online at lera-gateway.org, by mail LERA, c/o Rudy Smith, 240 Millridge Dr., Moscow Mills, MO 63362 or by phone at 636-356-4320.
