The Labor and Employment Relations Association (LERA) Gateway Chapter will offer a refresher program on collective bargaining, designed for the seasoned advocate as well as for those who are new in the field, on Wednesday, Aug. 1.

The session, called “Jeapordy? A Collective Bargaining Review,” begins at 7:45 a.m. with breakfast and registration, followed by the program, which is from 8:15 to 10:15 a.m. It will be held at the UFCW Local 655 Union Hall, 300 Weidman Road, in Ballwin.

The fun, interactive program will be facilitated by St. Louis Federal Mediation & Conciliation Service Commissioner Myla Hite, who has more than 40 years of experience in the Labor/management arena as a lead negotiator, facilitator, mediator and consultant. It will include everything from negotiating a contract to processing a grievance.

You can register for the program online at lera-gateway.org or by mail c/o Rudy Smith, 240 Millridge Drive, Moscow Mills, MO 63362. The registration deadline is July 25. The program is free for LERA patron and co-sponsor members and $50 for LERA individual members and non-members.
