The National Association of Letter Carriers’ annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, held for the past 27 years on the second Saturday in May, was postponed this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The NALC has now announced a new plan to address the problem of hunger in the way of a Donor Drive, urging the public to make a monetary donation to area food banks.

You can make donations to food banks in your state and region by visiting the “2020 Stamp Out Hunger Donor Drive” page at nalc.org/community-service/food-drive/2020-donor-drive.

The NALC’s Stamp Out Hunger food drive is the nation’s largest one day food drive, with postal patrons leaving food donations in a bag by their mailbox to be collected by letter carriers. This year’s drive was cancelled due to the pandemic over concerns about safely collecting and distributing food donations. But the need for food assistance is more urgent than ever, especially with so many people out of work.

The 2020 Stamp Out Hunger Donor Drive is an opportunity to fill that gap.

Donate what you can to a food bank in your community by visiting nalc.org/community-service/food-drive/2020-donor-drive, selecting your state and clicking on the link to donate directly to a food bank of your choice.
