When Machinists District 9 Stewards enjoyed this year’s annual holiday gathering, Directing Business Representative Mark Conner had a surprise for them: folding and stuffing and sealing 3,000 solicitations for the Gateway Chapter of Paralyzed Veterans of America.

“When we held our Veteran’s Day recognition brunch with a guest speaker from the organization, we committed to help the Paralyzed Veterans in any way we can,” Conner said. “They took us up on it, asking for help with their mailing.”

Conner said he figured the holiday party was as good a place as any to help with the mailing.

“We didn’t force anyone,” Conner said. “The members are always very happy to help.”
