Missouri AFL-CIO BBQ in the Park offers opportunity for union members and legislators to find common ground

Jefferson City – The Missouri AFL-CIO’s annual Barbecue in the Park April 26 offered union members and legislators from throughout the state a chance to find common ground as they relaxed and enjoyed food and drinks away from the embattled atmosphere inside the State Capitol

Despite severe storms moving through the area just prior to the start of the event, there was a great turnout for this year’s festivities. Over good food, and under suddenly sunny skies, union leaders and legislators vowed to keep up the fight to protect workers’ rights against paycheck deception, attacks on prevailing wage and the ever-looming threat of right-to-work.
