As Donald Trump visited Missouri Aug. 30 to promote his unfair tax cut plan and bash Senator Claire McCaskill, the Missouri State Council of Fire Fighters announced its endorsement of Senator McCaskill in her re-election campaign for the United States Senate.

“Throughout her career, Claire has always worked to ensure that fire fighters have the tools and resources we need to keep Missourians safe, never wavering in her commitment to supporting fire fighters and first responders,” said Sherwood Smith, president of the Missouri State Council of Fire Fighters.

“We are proud to stand with Claire as she continues to fight for the people of Missouri.”

“Our fire fighters and first responders risk their lives each and every day to keep our communities safe, and we owe it to them to ensure that our government’s priorities reflect their sacrifice,” said Senator McCaskill, a former arson prosecutor.

“I am honored to receive the endorsement of the Missouri State Council of Fire Fighters and I will continue to have their backs in the Senate so we can support their critical work here in Missouri.”

The Missouri State Council of Fire Fighters represents over 6,000 current and retired fire fighters, EMS workers, and prosecuting attorneys.
