Missouri Women in Trades (MOWIT), a non-profit group dedicated to helping women enter and succeed in the building trades, has announced it is changing its monthly tradeswoman meetup dates and location this fall.

Currently, meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month from 4 to 6 p.m. at the organization’s office at 3245 Hampton Ave. in St. Louis. Beginning in October, the new meetup date will be the third Thursday of the month from 4 to 6 p.m. at the AGC Training Center, 6301 Knox Ave. in St. Louis.

“We chose to move the meeting date so it doesn’t interfere with any local union meetings,” said MOWIT President Beth Barton. “And holding our meetings at the AGC Training Center will allow more tradeswomen to attend because if provides a bigger meeting space.

“Additionally, our partnership with the AGC Training center will allow us to utilize space in the future for workshops and skill building and create a closer relationship with the apprenticeship schools in the building.”

Guests must register to attend the meetings, and MOWIT will follow all St. Louis City COVID-19 and CDC guidelines. Snacks, water, soda will be provided. Once capacity is met, the sign-up sheet will close. Register at mowit.org or call 636-926-6948.
