Skilled building tradesmen and tradeswomen are known for rolling up their sleeves and getting the job done, and members of Painters District Council 58 did just that recently as part of the KSHE-95/ImpactLife Winter Blood Drive.

The District Council 58 union hall in St. Louis was one of several locations for the winter blood drive to benefit ImpactLife (formerly Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center), which provides blood to 120 hospitals in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri and Wisconsin.

In exchange for giving blood at the Dec. 10 and 11 events, donors received a limited-edition KSHE Winter Blood Drive T-shirt and an automatic entry into a drawing for a pair of tickets to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert on Dec. 30.

“The demand for life-saving blood never ends,” said Joe Mueller, District Council 58 assistant business manager. “We’re happy to help, especially during the holidays when donations are low.”

There is an urgent, critical need for donations of all blood types, especially Type O and platelets, according to ImpactLife. To schedule a donation, call the organization at (800) 747-5401 or visit bloodcenter.org.
