CLUW logoThe St. Louis Chapter of the Coalition of Labor Union Women (CLUW) has announced the panel of experts who will be speaking at a Nov. 19 town hall meeting on early childcare for working women.

The panel includes:

  • Rasheen Aldridge, SEIU Local 1;
  • Mary Armstrong, AFT Local 420;
  • Susan Crosby, St. Louis Public Schools;
  • Tishaura Jones, St. Louis City Treasurer;
  • Pam Mitchell, St. Louis Regional Early Childhood Council;
  • Lindsey Noblot, Beyond Housing.

The soaring costs of childcare are putting a squeeze on many families, and the situation is even more dismal for single women who earn low wages. The meeting will explore innovative childcare ideas, including the St. Louis Public Schools free pre-kindergarten program.

The event will be held at 10 a.m. at the CWA Local 6300 Union Hall at 2258 Grissom Dr. in Maryland Heights, MO. To reserve a seat, contact CLUW President Sonja Gholston-Byrd at sgbyrd@cwa6300.org. Childcare is available during the meeting.
