The Rockwood Labor Club is hosting a Labor Appreciation Night at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23 at the Eureka Elks Lodge, 19 West 1st Street, Eureka, Mo., to recognize other area labor clubs and labor leaders in eastern Missouri.

The evening will include a look back at the 2012 elections and the work that needs to be done in 2013.

It’s important for rank and file members to get involved with the political process of local politics and support labor friendly candidates at the local level such as alderman, mayor, school boards, and fire boards.

With issues like “right-to-work” (for less), “paycheck deception”, and “prevailing wage” it is more important now than ever for union members to influence policy, and that starts at the local level.

If you live in Fenton, Valley Park, Manchester, Des Peres, Ballwin, Chesterfield, Wildwood, Eureka, or Pacific, Mo. come join the Rockwood Labor Club for this informative evening.

Get involved. Help do what is necessary to maintain our standard of living, and the union way of life.
