As Congress debates the next round of federal stimulus legislation this week, Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 1 is asking area union members to participate in an Essential Worker Caravan this Thursday, May 14, in downtown St. Louis to demand that healthcare, building service, fast food, transit, public sector employees and other workers are front and center in legislation for things like PPE and essential worker pay.

Line up in your cars, vans or trucks at 9:45 a.m. at 4th & Chestnut to caravan from the Arch to the federal courthouse downtown where Senators Roy Blunt and Josh Hawley have their St. Louis office.

Cars in the caravan would bear signs with quotes like “PPE Now!” “Essential Pay for Essential Workers,” “Justice For Janitors,” “Airport Workers are essential,” “Honk for PPE,” etc. or whatever works with the message for your individual unions.
