Southern Illinois Builders Association recognizes 50-year members

The Southern Illinois Builders Association (SIBA) recently recognized three of its members for over 50 years of membership in the Association.

The firms include:

KORTE & LUITJOHAN was recently honored by the Southern Illinois Builders Association for more than 50 years of service.   • Korte & Luitjohan Contractors, Inc., of Highland, Ill., which became a member on March 1, 1970. In order to work with Korte & Luitjohan, all subcontractors need to have good references, sound financials, good relationships with the local unions and a strong safety record.
  • Guarantee Electrical Construction Co., of Granite City, Ill., which became a member on May 29, 1970. Guarantee is a signatory contractor to the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
  • Effingham Builders Supply, Inc., of Effingham, Ill., which became a member on Nov. 4, 1970.

SIBA usually honors firms with an awards program, but due to COVID-19 pandemic, SIBA felt it was in the best interest of all involved to cancel this year’s event.

SIBA is a trade association of contractors representing 500-plus commercial and industrial building, highway and utility construction contractors throughout Southern Illinois.

SIBA is celebrating 75 years of service to the commercial construction industry in Southern Illinois this year.
